ABSTRACT:
In this talk I will give an overview of the role of intrinsic noise in Molecular Biology. I will introduce simulation techniques such as the Stochastic Simulation Algorithm and new bridging techniques based around the tau leap algorithms and then apply these to some biological examples including the Hes 1 regulatory model in mouse, the her1/7 model in zebrafish and juxtacrine signalling. If time permits I will talk about some recent results in multi-level stochastic simulations.
