CONFERENCE BACKGROUND AND GOALS
The 2nd international conference "e-Learning Baltics" (eLBa) 2009 will bring together researchers - practitioners and scientists, people using and people producing e-Learning products and services. As usual, eLBa 2009 will cover different aspects of teaching and learning with digital media, it will address different target groups for e-Learning and it will bring together people from various disciplines such as computer sciences, pedagogy, psychology and design.

Same as the previous conference, eLBa 2009 consists of four parts:
- eLBa Business - a business congress and an user forum,
- eLBa Science - an international scientific conference,
- eLBa Exhibition - the accompanying fair for e-Learning products and services,
- eLBa Workshops - a variety of pre-conference workshops covering different topics.

This call for paper is for the eLBa Science 2009. Contributions of 8 to 10 pages will be peer-reviewed, published as conference proceedings and presented at the conference in June 2009 in Rostock.


AIMS AND SCOPE
The eLBa 2009 conference will again focus on workplace learning, covering all kinds of different "workplaces" such as
- Schools, where the classroom is the workplace of pupils and their teachers,
- Classrooms in colleges and in vocational schools,
- University classrooms as workplaces for students and their professors,
- Workplaces in organizations such as companies, institutions, corporations etc.
Elderly people and people with special needs do need special workplaces and special workplace learning, too.

Following this, the eLBa 2009 conference scope of "workplace learning" addresses diverse topics and perspectives, technologies and theories, implementations and evaluations in the fields of computer science, pedagogy, psychology and design. Accordingly, we invite researches from different fields to contribute to eLBa 2009.


TOPICS of interest include, but are not limited to:
- E-Learning in working processes
- E-Learning in learning processes
- E-Learning for elderly people and people with special needs
- Communication, coordination and collaboration in workplace learning
- Game-based learning, Game-based training
- Visual learning and VR/AR based training
- Didactics for e-learning, games didactics
- Self-directed learning, motivation for learning
- Learning technologies, learning platforms, learning programs
- Best practice, examples from professional use


SUBMISSIONS
We invite submissions of papers presenting original academic or industrial research. Please submit full papers in English language and of 8 to 10 pages by February 1, 2009. All papers must be rendered anonymous to facilitate blind review. They will be peer-reviewed and selected according to reviewer recommendations. Camera-ready papers have to be provided by Mai 1, 2009 and presented at the conference in June in Rostock.
